Tulip Time Festival Luncheon
Miss America 2008, Kirsten Haglund, will be joining the Holland community during this year’s festival. She will be the special guest speaker during the Tulip Time Festival Luncheon to be held at the Dow Center, Hope College on Wednesday, May 7. A native of Michigan, Kirsten is from Farmington Hills and is currently on a national speaking tour working toward increasing awareness and community action for her Miss American platforms.
This is a wonderful opportunity for residents and the business community of West Michigan to join Miss America for a Pure Michigan luncheon, great networking opportunities, and celebrating one of Michigan’s premier festival destinations.

Join us in June for the annual Petal Pops Concert, performed by the Holland Symphony Orchestra. This year’s event will swing you into a summer evening full of lazy jazz and the unique styling of Grammy Nominated Margaret Carlson. Margaret Carlson has been compared to Julie Andrews and Maureen McGovern, with her elegant musical style and on-stage presence. Margaret will scat through the evening with exceptional arrangements of your favorite pieces from some of our greatest American composers.

Come, RUN, and stay for the day! Kick off the first day of Tulip Time with a 5K, 8K, Kids Fun Run 1K through the beautiful, color-filled, Tulip Lanes of Holland, Michigan. Beginning at Christ Memorial Church this family fun event will get your heart rate up and please your senses as you wind through the Historic District of downtown Holland, filled with thousands of beautiful blooming tulips and flowering trees. Unwind by enjoying a stroll through the Art & Craft Fair, visiting our Kinderplaats kids event or taking in the magnificent talents of Dutch Dancers, klompen their heels to the sounds of traditional Dutch Folk music.

Tulip Trolley Tours
An entertaining introduction to the Tulip Time Festival and Holland provided by a friendly, Dutch costumed guide. Travel through tulip lanes, Holland’s historic district, beautiful city parks and a unique downtown area. Tickets are sold on a same-day basis, beginning 30 minutes prior to the first run. Tickets are available only from the Trolley Booth, located on the northeast corner of Centennial Park. Trolleys only run during the morning on parade days. Tours depart approximately every half hour and are 75 minutes in length. Some Trolleys are handicapped accessible. Adults $12 Children (under 12) $5, Lapsitters FREE.
Please note: In the event that the Kinderparade is postponed to Friday, Trolleys will only run 9-11:30 am on Friday, May 9.
